Before
This West Hamilton Mountain homeowner was in search of green driveway solutions to replace his existing asphalt driveway, which was not only non-porous, it was deteriorating. Opting for pervious paving, Ecoraster Bloxx was decided upon as the perfect solution for his new permeable driveway.
Preparation
The existing asphalt driveway was removed and the paver base below was excavated and replaced with porous, clear gravel.
Installation
During the green driveway installation, Ecoraster Bloxx permeable concrete pavers were placed on the leveled gravel fill. Once the surface was covered with the Bloxx paver grid system, the concrete paving stones were quickly and easily installed within the cells of the plastic grid.
After
The newly installed pervious paving driveway was immediately functional and helped to keep the stormwater on-site, reducing runoff. The surface will remain level and stable and can be easily cleared of snow in the winter.
