A local boat owner was experiencing problems with excessive mud when storing his boat and needed boat storage ideas other than asphalt or cement, which would cover too large a section of the grassy area. Grass-filled Ecoraster grids were presented as a durable, sustainable, and permeable paving solution to the client’s boat storage/parking needs.

Preparation
In order to prepare for the Ecoraster E40 permeable boat pad for installation, and to help with ground stabilization, the team needed to remove the existing grass and the top level of muddy soil.
Installation
The Ecoraster E40 paver grid was installed and filled with soil. The area was then seeded to create beautiful grass grid pavers with excellent soil stabilization.
AFTER
The Ecoraster E40 boat pad was able to adapt to the driveway design, eliminate mud and drainage problems, and provide an immediate and usable solution for residential boat storage. This permeable surface will now support 800 tonnes of pressure per square meter. A fully sustainable paving solution with a great combination of form and function!
